Xtreme Missions Challenge Update (Oct 5)
Pastor Williams reports back that Monday was a great day at the game park. We are told that they had a great run and had the opportunity to see lions, giraffe, elephants, zebra, impala, hippos, crocs, wildebeest, and buffalo. In fact, here's a picture snapped by Cheri Fisher on her iPhone!
After a day at the game park, all that was left for the team before heading home was a little souvenier shopping. It'll be interesting to see what African artifacts they come back with!
The journey home begins on Tuesday. Please be in prayer for the team as they return.

Xtreme Missions Challenge Update (Oct 4)
What a day! What a day! Sunday was the See Kuku! That's Swahili for Big Day. Here's a brief synopsis of what God allowed us to see done for His glory on Sunday at the dedication of the new church building:
700 people in attendance
25 baptized
21 saved
Everything was great! The event was filled with excitement. The service lasted more than five hours (and that's before they even started the eating and baptizing!). Praise God for what He has allowed us to be a part of!
The week has been full of excitement, and it's awesome how the team members who have never been to Africa before have been able to use their gifts and talents to complement the team. Eric Polston as many of you know is a carpenter by trade. As you can see in the picture included in this post, Eric was able to build both a wooden pulpit as well as an offering box for the church. This is something that we usually are not able to provide. Then, Mike Jackson is an electrician. So, when the sound system malfunctioned during the Christian movie showing on Saturday night, Mike was able to repair the wiring so that the night could go on as planned. And then, there is Cheri Fisher. Without her help, many of these updates would not be possible. She has been able to harness new technologies to send back pictures and text messages from the trip. God certainly pieced together a good team for our veteran short-term missionaries: Pastor Williams & Hal Fues!

Xtreme Missions Challenge Update (Oct 3)
This update gives both a praise report and prayer request. Our praise is that 300 people showed up last night (Friday) to watch the Christian film that was showed at the site of the new building. That's 200 more people than were present on Thursday night!
Then on Saturday, the team went out on foot to pass out tracts and flyers about Sunday's service. We passed out thousands of tracts National Geographic style.
Now for the prayer requests. The Preacher says that Satan is really trying to fight their efforts. On Saturday, they experienced two flat tires while they were out spreading the word about Sunday. Please pray for the safety of the team and for souls to be saved at the building dedication service tomorrow.

Xtreme Missions Challenge Update (Oct 2)
More exciting news from Tanzania! As we mentioned before, our group took part in the showing of the film The Ten Commandments on Thursday night. 100 Tanzanian showed up for the event, and Vern Smith translated the entire movie into Swahili. Cheri Fisher said, "It was incredible." The missionary has a projector so the image was shown against the backdrop of the new church building that we've built! The weather was awesome so it was a nice evening under the star-filled sky.
On Friday, the team set out to build more seating for the church and to paint the inside walls of the building. In the picture to the right, you can see the new church building in the background, and the old mud-hut building to the right.
Also, for those of you who have asked, we have included a picture of the goat that was given to our team on Wednesday night. What an awesome gift! The team anticipates using this gift to feed some of the many who come to the building dedication this Sunday.
In just a few hours from now (later Friday night), the team plans to show another Christian film. Please continue to pray for team and the impact they are having in Tanzania.
